In every classroom, there’s a moment when a seemingly innocent question sparks an unexpected and hilarious misunderstanding. Mrs. Parks, a sixth-grade science teacher, was simply trying to quiz her class on the human body, but the response from one student, Little Mary, led to a golden comeback that had everyone in stitches.
It all began during a typical day in science class. Mrs. Parks, eager to engage her students, asked a seemingly straightforward question, “Can anyone tell me which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?” The class fell silent. No one answered, and Mrs. Parks, hoping to keep things moving, decided to point to a student at random.
Little Mary, a bright but slightly mischievous student, stood up and immediately crossed her arms in protest. With a scowl, she exclaimed, “You should not be asking sixth graders dirty questions like that! I’m going to tell my parents, and they will go and tell the principal, and then he’ll fire you!”
Mrs. Parks, clearly unfazed by the outburst, ignored Little Mary’s dramatic response and repeated the question, “Let’s try that again. Which body part increases to 10 times its size when stimulated?” At this point, Little Mary’s jaw dropped, and she pointed a finger at her teacher, shouting, “You’re gonna get in big trouble!”
The teacher, ever the professional, continued on, asking the class, “Anybody?”
After a few moments of awkward silence and nervous glances, Billy, a more timid student in the class, stood up. He hesitated for a second, clearly unsure of how to respond. But with a deep breath, he nervously answered, “The body part that increases 10 times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye.”
Mrs. Parks smiled warmly and replied, “Very good, Billy.” She turned to face Little Mary, who still looked shocked and embarrassed by the turn of events. Mrs. Parks, seizing the opportunity for a little humor, delivered her legendary comeback.
“As for you, young lady,” she began, “I have three things to say. One, you have a dirty mind. Two, you didn’t read your homework. And three, one day you are going to be very, very disappointed.”
